Canal Gestión of Lanzarote, the company responsible for the island's integrated water cycle, has announced that it "will not renounce or desist" from any of the lawsuits it faces with the Lanzarote Water Consortium. In response to a question drafted by the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the Assembly of Madrid, the subsidiary of the public company Canal Isabel II has insisted that it will maintain the judicial route to claim "legitimate rights" and defend its "proprietary interests."
The company that has managed the island's integrated water cycle since 2013 is undergoing a concession process to transfer its responsibilities to another company, with the aim of "guaranteeing the protection" of its "proprietary rights".
In this way, the concession transfer process began with an invitation to the main companies in the sector to submit their proposals to take over the service.
Canal Gestión Lanzarote has reported in the aforementioned document that the companies that presented **their non-binding offer** moved on to the next phase, which concluded with a **presentation of offers** that were indeed binding.Currently, the procedure is awaiting approval by the contracting authority and formalization in a public deed. If the assignment is approved, all responsibilities and rights of Canal Gestión Lanzarote will pass to the new company
