The Arrecife City Council has decided to suspend the Three Kings Parade due to Covid, as confirmed by the Councilor for Culture, José Alfredo Mendoza.
"We have made the decision and we are not going to celebrate the parade this year," Mendoza announced on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero, where he stated, however, that the City Council is working "to find alternatives to that parade."
"We are still working on that, on finding different alternatives to what we are used to seeing every year before the 5th, which is the Three Kings Parade, and then on the Christmas activities that are carried out such as the creation of a Nativity Scene and cultural and musical activities," he indicated.
In this line, the Councilor for Culture has pointed out that the possibility of making a tour of several Nativity scenes in Arrecife is being considered, "always in spaces where capacity and access can be controlled."
He also pointed out that work is being done to ensure that there are performances by groups and choirs in the street but "spontaneously", so that "no expectation is generated" and "to avoid crowds." "It will be in that line and that will be the Christmas that we are going to have this year," he concluded.
