The unions of the Local Police of Arrecife are studying to file a contentious-administrative appeal, understanding that the opposition process for the Local Police of Arrecife "has not been transparent or clean", as Andrés Martín, a member of Intersindical Canaria and CSIF, confirmed to Radio Lanzarote microphones.

At the time, the examinations for the Local Police of Arrecife were not without controversy. Several opponents then denounced an alleged "favoritism" in the process, even asking for the lists of results to be challenged.

"We understand that some candidate lacks a requirement, and we are going to bring it to the attention of our legal service, because we do not understand how Human Resources could accept that request", Martín has now pointed out, who added that the unions were part of the court, but were kicked out "due to discrepancies". "We were unable to verify the entire procedure with legal guarantees and we have made the decision to file a contentious-administrative appeal and even request that precautionary measures be taken so that person does not take office," he concluded.

In this sense, the councilor of the Local Police of Arrecife, Cristina Marrero, has indicated that Human Resources sent a letter to the unions, where they were told that "everything is in order". "If they believe they have to go to court, let them go, but I trust the technicians and that everything has been done with total regularity. There is a court that evaluates the candidates and they will have their minutes and will be able to demonstrate what they are asked."
