The Department of Animal Welfare of the Arrecife City Council, led by Jacobo Lemes, has organized a handling seminar with the aim of improving the welfare of dogs and promoting better control over them and their behavior, thus favoring good coexistence and pleasant and trouble-free walks. The event will take place on February 8 and 9 at the Citizen Participation Center “El Zaguán”.

The seminar will be led by Estefanía Díaz Muñoz, a renowned specialist in canine behavior, training and handling with more than 20 years of experience and extensive training. Díaz has participated in specialized courses and seminars both nationally and internationally and her career includes the preparation of multiple champions in canine beauty exhibitions in Spain, Europe and other countries.

During the seminar, participants will receive theoretical and practical training on key aspects of handling, such as development in the ring, movement, physical and muscular development, diet for optimal dog evolution, as well as the identification of defects and virtues. In addition, the psychological strengthening and resistance of the dog will be worked on to improve its general behavior.

Estefanía Díaz will be accompanied by “Covadonga de Fencing Dogs”, a Canary Island dog from Lanzarote that has achieved great success in international competitions, including the European and World Championships in the same year, as well as more than 20 prestigious titles in different countries.

The Councilor for Animal Welfare, Jacobo Lemes, has highlighted the importance of this type of initiative, stating that “our commitment to animal welfare drives us to offer training activities that allow owners to better understand their dogs and improve their behavior. With this seminar, we seek to provide practical tools to achieve greater control and more harmonious coexistence with our pets,” he said.

Registration for the seminar is open and those interested can obtain more information through the contact telephone numbers: 631 977 550 and 619 504 011.
