The Department of Social Welfare of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Maite Corujo, has scheduled a training session for this Wednesday, November 5, at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture on the prevention of techno-addictions, aimed at families and teachers.

The session, which will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will be free to attend until full capacity is reached, will be given by Edgar Chinea Gámez, a psychologist from the University of La Laguna who collaborates with the Non-Governmental Organization ACJ San Miguel Adicciones.

"After successfully completing the campaign in several Arrecife high schools aimed at third- and fourth-year secondary school students, we now want to make mothers, fathers, and teachers aware of the risks associated with the use of new technologies related to information and communication," says Maite Corujo.

In this sense, the objective of the session will be "to offer guidelines that contribute to the healthy use of social networks and video games, avoid the risks associated with the use of new technologies, such as those of a sexual nature or cyberbullying, or prevent addiction to sports betting and games of chance," adds the Councilor for Social Welfare of the capital of Lanzarote.
