The Arrecife City Council will approve this Friday in the Governing Board the Project of Adaptation and Legalization of the activity of the Argana Pavilion.

In 2018, the company CLECE SA was awarded a 20-year concession for the management of the Argana Pavilion and the Municipal Sports Park, as well as the rehabilitation works.

“We have been battling with the company for three years to ensure that, once and for all, the rehabilitation works begin and that this sports facility is open as soon as possible for the use of all citizens”, says the mayor, Astrid Pérez.

Likewise, from the capital's Consistory they point out that they contracted the drafting of the Adaptation and Legalization Project of the activity of the Argana Pavilion, "with the aim of executing the necessary works that guarantee the safety and optimal conditions of the sports facility".

“From the Arrecife City Council we have worked during these last three years so that the company would execute the works”, says the Councilor for Urban Planning, Eduardo Placeres, for his part.

The councilor recalls that the capital's Consistory "gave, in February 2022, a period of 20 days to the company to start the works as soon as possible, although the company requested an extension to start the interventions".

“I hope that this is the last step to have the Argana Pavilion as soon as possible, and that the residents of Arrecife can thus use a sports facility that was abandoned due to the neglect of previous governments”, concludes the mayor, Astrid Pérez.
