Antonio Morales: "Jesús Machín lies more than he speaks and is becoming a dictator"

The MRT spokesman denounces the mayor's "disrespect" towards the opposition. "If this continues, we will have to take measures, because we are not going to let him continue doing whatever he wants thinking that it is his farm," he says.

"Jesús Machín lies more than he speaks and is becoming a dictator in the plenary sessions". This is how the spokesman for the Renovating Movement of Tinajo (MRT), Antonio Morales, has stated, who has denounced the ways in which the mayor treats the opposition and "especially the spokeswoman for the PSOE", Begoña Hernández.

"It is not normal and he is going too far", Morales pointed out, who has accused Machín of "taking away the word" from the opposition after the plenary session held this Wednesday. In addition, and after the mayor of Tinajo defended on Radio Lanzarote that if he does so it is because there are times, the MRT spokesman has accused him of lying. "Don't come here to make rallies or be more transparent, what he has become is a pure and hard dictator, he does not let the opposition speak and the lack of respect towards the opposition has no limits, it has no name", he insisted.

According to Morales, Jesús Machín "lies because, to begin with, there is no regulation in Tinajo, so he cannot talk about times". In addition, the MRT spokesman has pointed out that "the law is clear" and that, according to it, the oppositions can take "the floor twice" in the interventions and "in case there are allusions as well". "But the mayor gets very nervous when he doesn't like what we are saying and forcefully takes away your word and there is nothing more to say", he pointed out.

Thus, although Antonio Morales has acknowledged that he "uses better ways" with him than with the PSOE spokeswoman, he has stated that if this continues he will have to "take measures". "Because obviously we are not going to let him continue doing whatever he wants thinking that it is his farm", he pointed out.

Motions from a year ago about which "nothing has been done"

And, the spokesman for the Renovating Movement of Tinajo has also accused Machín of "not telling the truth" and of "not doing anything" with respect to issues that affect the residents. In this regard, Antonio Morales has pointed out a series of motions that his party has been presenting in recent months without them being carried out.

Among others, Morales has referred to a request they made "about a year ago" to help families in the municipality with children from 0 to 3 years old. According to the MRT spokesman, said motion was then "tabled" because Jesús Machín told them that they already had "an ordinance prepared" that they were "going to release shortly". However, he states that this Wednesday he asked him about it in the plenary session and that the mayor stated that "nothing has been done".

Likewise,  Antonio Morales has mentioned another motion that they presented requesting a coordination of the institutions together with the security forces because "there are many robberies in the countryside". "Nothing has been solved", he indicated, also pointing to the fact that "many places in the municipality" are without fiber optics", among other issues on which he has pointed out that they have been demanding solutions.

"The General Plan thing is already a blast"

"And with the General Plan I won't even tell you, that's a blast", added the MRT spokesman who, in addition to criticizing that the government group voted against the motion presented by the PSOE requesting a revision of the planning, has also accused Machín of "deceiving" the residents in this regard. "Because in the electoral campaign he said that the action units could be eliminated", said the MRT councilor, who stated that this Wednesday "he already acknowledged that they cannot be eliminated".

"Something very important, that the residents know that CC voted against the General Plan motion because it does not consider it a priority", Antonio Morales continued, pointing out that the mayor "has done nothing" in this regard "in 15 years" and that he does not "expect to do it in the short term" either. "He told us in August that in December the draft would possibly be ready and zero. He has done nothing nor does he plan to do it", he added.

An urgent motion to improve the Montañas del Fuego agreement

On the other hand, Morales has criticized that CC brought three motions to the plenary session as a matter of urgency and that Jesús Machín got "angry" because the Renovating Movement of Tinajo voted against some of them because they considered that they "were not" urgent. "What happens is that until now he has not brought a single motion to the plenary session, no proposal, because they have all been from the opposition and the man has seen that we are overtaking him on the right and now he has rushed. They are not even capable of presenting a motion in a timely manner and that is why they are taking it as a matter of urgency", he stated.

Among them, the MRT spokesman has made special mention of an initiative related to the Montañas del Fuego, through which Jesús Machín intends to request a new agreement from the Cabildo for this tourist center, after the one reached between the City Council of Haría and the first institution for the Cueva de los Verdes.

"What he was proposing was an agreement that we don't even know. And the most serious thing is that he said that if we don't go to Court. Look, the Court thing is fine to say, but imagine that you go to Court and it tells you that you are right and that the City Council takes charge of the Montañas del Fuego. Do you know what that means for the municipality of Tinajo?", Morales pointed out, who also believes that "the Mountains, which is a National Park, cannot be compared with the Cueva de los Verdes".

"We say yes to a reasonable agreement but, hey, keep a little bit with the issue of Courts, I see you very happy with these things and afterwards the consequences will be paid by those who come after us possibly", Morales concluded.
