Hay Proyecto en Tías is the name of a new local political party that was born under the presidency of Salvador Medina and that was presented to society this Wednesday. A formation created by residents in the municipality that seeks to "promote a local government closer to the neighbors." "Because the administration is getting colder and more dehumanized every day, and we want to be more direct, more transparent, more efficient and serious and, above all, committed to the people of Tías," its president has pointed out.
Salvador Medina has been practicing law and was part of the Neighborhood Party for the Progress of San Bartolomé when he resided in this municipality, as he himself explained on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero. "And that is the idea that I like for this party and I proposed it to a group of friends who met. We talked and so on and there were people who had belonged to other political groups as well," said the president of Hay Proyecto en Tías, who now resides in Puerto del Carmen, and who nevertheless wanted to make it clear that this new party is outside of political ideologies.
"Really, ideology is not necessary for city councils," Medina pointed out, noting that it is about "doing neighborhood management." "For the residents of Tías, looking after the residents of Tías. Not like the big parties, the big brands, who sometimes only look at the interests that may bring them benefits and often forget about neighborhood management, what really matters and is of interest," he added.
Protect the environment and avoid urban speculation
Thus, Salvador Medina has explained that Hay proyecto en Tías is "a political organization of local scope only", which aims to "adapt and prepare the municipality for new economic scenarios, with adequate management, protecting the natural environments and the environment of the municipality and avoiding urban speculation", Likewise, its president has stated that they will also work to "promote a comprehensive quality education and a cultural offer that is varied and enriching, and for the use of new technologies".
The objective, according to Salvador Medina, is to "comply with the maximum number of residents of the municipality." "And when I say maximum I mean everyone. Not only the ordinary citizen, but also the one who does not walk. And also be respectful with the commercial premises, because if there are businesses that need help to properly set up their businesses, we are going to help them too, and to those who are not complying, we are going to tell them that they are not complying and we have to solve this. reach solutions with the people who are not complying and make them see that that is not the way
Agustín García Acosta is another of the men who are part of this new party, according to Salvador Medina, who has pointed out that the rest of the members are not well-known people. "No one has identified himself as an important athlete or philosopher, but they are wonderful, wonderful people and there are many more women than men," added the president of Hay Proyecto en Tías, indicating that 80% of its members are women.
"We want people to tell us what the real problems are"
This new party already has a website, although it does not yet have a fixed headquarters. For now, this Wednesday it held a presentation assembly in the El Fondeadero Hall of Puerto del Carmen.
"What we want is for people to talk to us, to tell us what the real problems are in their neighborhoods. We know what the problems are that we have seen, but there are many that we have not seen in the towns of Tías and the neighborhoods of the municipality and we would ask them to tell us, because that is going to be our main objective, the response to those social challenges of the municipality," concluded Salvador Medina.
