Storm Claudia began to unleash its fury on Lanzarote from midday this Thursday, after a morning marked by light and scattered rainfall. Since 2:00 PM, precipitation has intensified, especially in , as seen in the images provided by the Emergency Consortium, as well as in Yaiza, La Villa de Teguise, and Playa Blanca.

The wind is also being a protagonist of the day, with gusts that have reached 90 kilometers per hour in Tinajo, according to data from the meteorological station. These adverse conditions are causing numerous incidents in different municipalities, mainly due to the fall of electrical cables, poles, and other elements of urban furniture

The most affected areas are **Arrecife, Tinajo, Tiagua, and Arrieta**, where the wind has at times exceeded **80 kilometers per hour**. In **Tiagua**, one of the most significant incidents was recorded: a high-voltage cable fell onto the main road, forcing traffic to be cut off and rerouted while Endesa technicians worked to restore safety.

During the early morning hours, electrical activity was also significant, with more than 200 lightning strikes recorded off the west coast of Lanzarote, a phenomenon that reflects the magnitude of this storm, which continues to strongly affect the island.
