The Tías City Council has organized a free computer course aimed at young people in the municipality between the ages of 12 and 35. It will be divided into two groups and will be taught in August at the Bajamar senior center in Puerto del Carmen and in the training room of the consistorial house, in Tías.

The Departments of Youth and Education, led by Christopher Notario and Tomás Silvera, have promoted this course with the aim of ensuring that young people complete their academic training with mastery of Word, Excel and Power Point programs. The email and telephone for information and registration are [email protected] and 928 833 619 ext 2208.

The course will begin on August 3 in the morning and places are limited on a first-come, first-served basis. In the training room of the Tías City Council it will be taught on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; while in the Bajamar senior center it will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and on Fridays from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

The Councilor for Youth of Tías, Christopher Notario, explains that the capacity is limited due to the protection measures required against Covid-19, but affirms that “in the event that the demand is very high”, they will create “a waiting list” and will assess “the possibility of responding to all requests”. "Young people need to recycle and from the City Council we want to facilitate this training," he says.

For his part, the Councilor for Education, Tomás Silvera, encourages secondary and high school students to continue with their training for the next school year. “It is important to take advantage of all available resources. We are sure that many students are interested in enriching their integral development with learning like this,” he points out.
