Salvamento Marítimo has been searching since Monday morning for an inflatable boat with approximately one hundred migrants on board which is located 80 miles northeast of Lanzarote, as confirmed by the entity itself to La Voz.

The alert was received by the Las Palmas Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre at 08:15 this Monday. Initially, it was the Moroccan emergency services who were to be in charge of their rescue.

However, as the vessel left Moroccan waters, Salvamento took over the rescue

Around 11:00 AM, the rescue boats Acrux and Alnair set out in search of the inflatable boat, although a nearby vessel was alerted to intervene in the rescue if necessary. For the moment, the vessel is awaiting Salvamento Marítimo.

According to the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, the vessel is expected to arrive at Puerto Naos in approximately five hours.
