From the youngest, 3 years old, to the 17-year-old boys, they demonstrated their evolution as gymnasts last Friday at the closing of the Yaiza Municipal School.
The public filled the tent of the Sun Island hotel in Playa Blanca, where the 70 athletes demonstrated their qualities and received diplomas from the mayor of Yaiza, Gladys Acuña, the councilors of Sports and Social Dynamization, Rafael Tavío and Manuela Martín, respectively, and the director of Sun Group, Pablo Rivero.
The children, aged between 3 and 5 years old, under the watchful eye of the coaches, began the demonstration showing off their grace. The little ones of 6, 7 and 8 years old continued the show keeping the attention of family and guests and serving as a prelude to the exercise of 11 gymnasts from 6 to 11 years old. The appearance of five girls from Yaiza then marked the script, which continued with the exhibition team of the Municipal School. In total, 14 boys from 9 to 17 years old, belonging to the Isla de Lanzarote Center, captivated the audience with their jumps and choreographies.
This demonstration put the icing on the two-hour show. Before the end of the gala, the organization screened "Tell me", a video that summarizes the journey of the School from its first season to 2012. Children and adolescents collected their diplomas and expressed their affection to the coaches, giving them a bouquet of flowers.
