Like every year, on July 2nd, the residents of the town of La Vegueta head to Vega de Yuco where the small hermitage is located to support their virgin La Morenita, Our Lady of Regla.
At 6:30 p.m., after the Angelus prayer, the image of Our Lady of Regla went out in procession accompanied by the chords of the Tinajo Municipal Music Band Peña de San Roque directed by Professor Orlando Morales, together with the parish priest of the municipality, Francisco José García, the mayor Jesús Machín, the councilors and the residents making the journey to the Yacomar Socio-Cultural Center, located in the heart of La Vegueta. At that point, a group of residents awaited the arrival of the image, which was received with applause, then the celebration of the Eucharist began, presided over by the parish priest Francisco José García, enlivening the songs of the celebration with Canarian airs by a group of residents.
After the Eucharist, the Gaida Folk Group from the municipality of Tías, presided over by Emilio Fernández, made the offering to Our Lady of Regla with the most representative of the traditional Canarian songs and dances such as; folias, sorondongo, seguidillas, malagueña, ending with an isa parrandera, with the participation of the public who also joined their voices in the choruses.
Next, the image of Our Lady of Regla, accompanied by the residents, returned to her hermitage, and the festive day ended with a community prayer.
