The murga Las Revoltosas also receives the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands

The San Bartolomé City Council congratulates the group for its award

Las Revoltosas has also been recognized with the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands within the group of veteran murgas of the Canary Islands. This distinction has been granted by the Governing Council of the Government of the Canary Islands, convened by the president, Ángel Víctor Torres, this Thursday in which Los Buches has been recognized, and which will be presented on May 30 on the occasion of Canary Islands Day.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, congratulates Las Revoltosas and wanted to express "his enormous satisfaction" for the recognition of the murga, about which he assured "they are a benchmark and a pride for the municipality, for Lanzarote and for all the Canary Islands and continue to make history with an unstoppable trajectory that, with the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands, is once again recognized.”

Las Revoltosas are a benchmark of the Carnival of San Bartolomé, Lanzarote and the Canary Islands. An association established in the early 80s as a murga, authentic precursors of the culture of carnival who managed to be the first female murga in the Canary Islands.
