The Minister of Tourism, Reyes Maroto, has learned about the app of the Audio-guide of the Canary Islands of Canary Islands Car, CICAR, from the CEO of the company, Mamerto Cabrera. This mobile application allows to spread the values and attractions of each island in a brief, entertaining and rigorous way.

The Minister of Tourism was interested in this initiative, with which the company tries to contribute to spread the cultural and natural values of the Canary Islands among users who are inclined to rent a car to travel and get to know them. The Audio-guide has been reviewed and updated with the collaboration of the Tourism areas of the island councils.

The philosophy remains the same: we invite you to discover the main points of interest of each of the islands through this Audio-guide, that is, everything that our visitors should not miss when they travel them in their rental car. The Audio-guide has been published in four languages: Spanish, English, German and French.

The Audio-guide of the Canary Islands is a project of the Cabrera Medina Business Group that has been produced with care and rigor. The texts are by Mario Alberto Perdomo, the narration in Spanish is by Fernando G. Delgado and the musical selection, editing and representative photographs of each island are by Ildefonso Aguilar.

After downloading it and selecting the language, there are two ways to listen to the Audio-guide:

  1. A la carte. In this case, when approaching one of the places, the client selects in the application the number that identifies it, starting the audition of the musical atmosphere and the narration. By doing so, a voice describes the most interesting aspects of the place that is being traveled on a subtle musical background.
  2. Tour mode. It consists of freely touring the island and it will be the application itself that selects, automatically and through geolocation, the track that should be listened to when the client approaches one of the points of interest,

The Audio-guide of the Canary Islands tries to promote a better interpretation of the islands by incorporating the varied leisure offer, public and private, that each one has. On the other hand, it promotes the consumption of wines, cheeses and other local products, and offers a series of useful tips for users of rental cars to contribute to the conservation of the islands.

As a complementary support to the Audio-guide, CICAR offers a detailed map with the list of the most interesting places of each island, duly marked and numbered. The maps have also been updated. On the right and left margins of the map, a series of photographs visually identify each of the places of tourist interest.
