Haría has been enjoying its Medieval Carnival since Thursday, which kicked off with the traditional party for the municipality's elderly at the La Tegala Sociocultural Center, the opening speech by Gustavo Navarro, and the Inaugural Gala featuring performances by the Aerial Circus School, Drag Eros, Comparsa Los Cumbacheros, and El Norte Dance Latin Dance School.
This Friday, more than 300 students participated in the inclusion parade held for the second consecutive year on the occasion of the carnival in the northern municipality. The procession was led by children from CEIP San Juan de Haría, as well as first and second year ESO students from IES Haría, who headed to the Plaza, where various performances took place.
Also attending the event were the special needs classrooms from CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés de Tías; CEIP César Manrique Cabrera de Teguise; CEIP Concepción Rodríguez Artiles de Tías; CEO Argana de Arrecife; IES Las Maretas de Arrecife; IES Las Salinas de Arrecife; IES Playa Honda de San Bartolomé; and IES San Bartolomé. Students from Adislan and the CEE Nuestra Señora de los Volcanes de Tahíche also joined this parade, as did students from the Social Integration cycle of the IES de Teguise, who voluntarily participated in its organization.
Also scheduled for this Friday is the III Meeting of Murgas with Tabletúos, Titi Roys, Vacilonas, and Desahuciados, and a performance by the Batucada Villa Pipol, followed by the open-air dance with Furia Joven and Naiyimbe.
Coso, Tapas Carnival, and Burial of the Sardine
The Grand Carnival Parade (Coso), the highlight of the festivities, will take place this Saturday starting at 7:00 p.m., with a parade of floats, murgas, comparsas, batucadas, and a large number of masked revelers. The departure will be from the cemetery parking lots, ending in the Plaza de Haría. The night will conclude with the open-air dance with the Furia Joven orchestra from Gran Canaria and Código 0 from Fuerteventura.
On Sunday, the carnival will come to an end, with the Tapas Carnival starting at noon and performances by Kardomillo and Si es tarde nos vamos (If it's late, we're leaving). In the afternoon, there will be the Carnival of Weeping and the Burial of the Sardine, which will be accompanied by the Woman Batuca batucada, concluding with a humorous show by Jaime Marrero and Xayo.
