The man who suffered a choking this Saturday in a restaurant in Lanzarote has finally died. It is Jesús María Vizcaíno, brother of the Canary Coalition councilor in the Tías city council, Amado.

Vizcaíno leaves behind his mother Flora Eugenio Rodríguez and his other siblings Marinieves, Seye and Amado Vizcaino Eugenio.

The funeral chapel is installed in the Tías Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held this Monday, February 3 at 4:00 p.m. in the San Antonio Church (Tías). Afterwards, his burial will take place in the Tías Cemetery.

As will be recalled, Jesús María, 56 years old, suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest after choking on February 1, 2025 at 2:45 p.m.

The healthcare staff, along with a nurse in the operating room, provided teleassistance instructions to the establishment's staff to initiate basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers. Upon arriving at the scene, the emergency teams confirmed that the patient was still in cardiorespiratory arrest and proceeded to perform advanced maneuvers, managing to recover his pulse. Unfortunately, he passed away this Sunday.
