The Engineering, maintenance and works service of the Lanzarote Health Area, attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, has obtained the certification of the Quality Management System in accordance with the standards of the ISO 9001 standard.

The team of engineers and technicians of the Engineering service maintains the facilities of the centers attached to the Lanzarote Health Services Management, which includes electrical, refrigeration and thermal installations, as well as water supply and fire protection installations. In addition, it provides technical assistance services in equipment that generates ionizing radiation, improving the capacity of technical personnel to act on this equipment.

Hospital engineering services participate in the development of new care areas and in the selection of new technologies to be implemented. In this regard, the Ministry of Health highlights that these are "essential" services for healthcare activity and, however, "still unknown to most users".

The head of the service, Renato Guadalupe, values the certifications received, which recognize the work carried out, focused on improving the service provided. The Lanzarote Health Services Management congratulates "the professionals who are part of the service, and all those who have participated in this ambitious project, which represents a new success for quality public services".
