The Creciendo Social Association, after the success of the Inclusive Camp Having Fun 2021, is beginning to extend its activity to more locations on the island, offering therapies to children with functional diversity from other municipalities. An offer that, according to its president, Osvaldo Montenegro, announces, "is now expanded with inclusive extracurricular activities that will be carried out during this school year not only in Arrecife, but also in Costa Teguise and Playa Honda."

"We have practically everything closed and in the next few days we will give all the details through our social networks, but I anticipate that there will be swimming, art and something else," he details. "We must continue to take steps forward because inclusion can and should be done," concludes the president of the southern association.

Nearly sixty children and young people, some of them with special needs, shared games, experiences and emotions during the summer months at the Inclusive Camp Having Fun 2021, an enriching experience that grows in participation every year in Playa Blanca and that in this edition has been extended to the municipality of Teguise "achieving also a great acceptance, unequivocal sign that inclusion is possible, in addition to being necessary, and that with commitment, effort and dedication is making its way on the Island".

The Creciendo Social Association has been the organizer of this camp, together with the Tinyala Basketball Club and the AMPA of the CEIP Playa Blanca. From the southern association they claim the "need to create these spaces for coexistence" and highlight the scarce or no offer of existing activities for these boys and girls with functional diversity, especially in the summer season.

For this reason, this summer they wanted to take a further step by organizing the inclusive camp also in the municipality of Teguise, "thus creating a camp at the island level with two areas of action, Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise". An initiative that they say has been "very well received" and that has been possible "thanks to the sponsorship of the Sotocan Júnguel San Juan Foundation and the collaboration of Aqualava Water Park, Hotel TUI BLUE Flamingo Beach Resort, the City Councils of Teguise and Yaiza, the Sports Area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and Amanda Bus".

"These are projects that are not profitable, due to the number of monitors and assistants that are needed to meet the needs of all the boys and girls, some of them with significant mobility problems," explains the president of the association, pointing out that that is why "there is no offer or it is very scarce and requires greater involvement on the part of the institutions". "Creating these spaces for coexistence is essential to normalize disability and continue advancing to build a more egalitarian society," he stresses.
