The Canary Islands record the fourth warmest November since 1961

Temperatures were above average for 18 days last month

The Canary Islands recorded this November the fourth warmest since 1961, along with 1988 and only behind 2006, 2017 and 1981, with an average temperature of 18.8ºC, one degree above the reference period, according to the Aemet's climatological advance.

Temperatures were above average for 18 days, 15 of them with anomalies of more than 1°C, while the periods between days 4 and 9 and 25 and 30 were, on the contrary, cold, with negative anomalies of more than 1°C.

As for rainfall, it reached 92% of normal values and the snow in Izaña (Tenerife) was the highest since 2002, with a normal rainfall behavior in the first two months of the hydrological year, with an average rainfall of 63.8 liters per square meter, 86% of what was expected.

The average number of hours of sunshine was 224.2, 13% less than last month but very close to the usual amount in November, with the exception of a period of haze on the 20th and 21st in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
