The Canary Islands Emergency Service registered 23,600 incidents in Lanzarote throughout 2024

A total of 12,524 corresponded to health emergency situations in which the person's life is in imminent danger and 5,800 emergencies whose management is prioritizable

The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), attached to the public company Health and Safety Service Management in the Canary Islands and dependent on the Ministry of Health, registered 23,625 incidents in Lanzarote in 2024, of which 12,524 corresponded to health emergency situations in which the person's life is in imminent danger and 5,800 emergencies whose management is prioritizable, the rest is related to consultations and health transport services.

All this activity has meant that the SUC has attended to 22,893 people on the island who needed some type of health care or transfer to a medical care center.

Of the total requests for help, 18,437 were linked to cases of illness, 4,610 corresponded to accidents of various types, whether traffic, domestic or other, and 578 referred to the transport of patients between health centers. 

In relation to cases of illness, 2,260 were classified as consultations and resolved from the operating room itself, through the teleassistance provided by the medical and nursing professionals of the SUC, without the need to move mobile resources.

Last year, the SUC assisted 343,005 people in the Canary Islands and a total of 356,035 incidents that were related to one or more requests for help provided. Of these, 154,223 were related to emergencies, 107,355 to urgencies, 62,498 were consultations, 21,157 to urgent transport services and 10,802 to interhospital transport services.
