The Island Governing Council approved this Wednesday the final award of scholarships and study aid for official studies of the past course 2014-2015, convened by the Cabildo of Lanzarote through the Area of Education and Culture, and endowed with a total amount of 586,000 euros. Of 1,340 applications submitted, 412 were favorable. The list of beneficiaries can be consulted on the Notice Board of the Institution and on the website of the Cabildo of Lanzarote through the link http://goo.gl/yJ2ODh.
Of the total scholarships granted, 146 are aimed at face-to-face university studies, each endowed with 1,500 euros; 11 to face-to-face university studies in Lanzarote (600 euros for each beneficiary); 29 to vocational training studies - intermediate or higher grade - outside of Lanzarote (1,000 euros for each beneficiary); and 11 are granted to students who completed higher studies in dramatic art, music, dance, graphic design, ceramics, glass and conservation-restoration of cultural assets (1,000 euros each scholarship).
On the other hand, 4 scholarships are destined for face-to-face postgraduate studies outside of Lanzarote (each endowed with 1,000 euros); 1, endowed with 100 euros, to elementary music studies at the Insular Conservatory of Music of Lanzarote; 10 to non-face-to-face university studies (600 euros for each beneficiary) and 9 for non-face-to-face postgraduate studies (900 euros for each scholarship).
Likewise, two complementary aids have been granted for mobility programs, each endowed with 600 euros, and 304 compensatory aids for accommodation in rental housing or university residences outside of Lanzarote with an amount of 1,000 euros each.
