The Cabildo congratulates Manuel García Fuentes for receiving the Canary Islands Sports and Autochthonous Games award

The President of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, together with the Minister of Sports, Alfredo Mendoza, have received the award winner at the Island Corporation

Manuel J. García Fuentes from Conejero received the Canary Islands Government award for his work in promoting sports and traditional native games such as the Canarian ball in the Islands. For this reason, the Island Council congratulated the winner, and he was received by the president, María Dolores Corujo, and the Minister of Sports, Alfredo Mendoza.

Corujo presented a gift in gratitude for the work that Manuel García has been doing since 1998. “On behalf of Lanzarote and the entire Island Corporation, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to those who have dedicated their time to promoting and instilling native sports”, says Corujo.

Manuel García Fuentes, a resident of Lanzarote, started in the world of Canarian Bola as a child with wooden balls. His beginnings in federated activity date back to 1991 as a player in the Argana Baja Club. Over time he developed his work as a disseminator and promoting native sport among the youngest on the island.
