Throughout the month of February, a total of 7 boats arrived in Lanzarote, with 280 occupants inside. This translates into a decrease of 74% compared to the month of January, when 27 boats arrived with 1,175 people on board.

In addition, no boat has arrived on the Island so far this month of March, and we have to go back to February 18 to count the last one, which was a boat intercepted by Salvamar with 33 immigrants on board.

However, the figures for immigrants who arrived on the Island in the first two months of the year are much higher if we compare them with 2021. And this year a total of 1,455 immigrants have arrived on the Island, of which 1,175 did so in January, while in the same period of time in 2021 only 213 arrived, distributed in 9 boats.

In fact, the data from last January is the second highest in more than a year, only behind the month of September 2021, when 38 boats arrived and a total of 1,377 immigrants. However, in most months of 2021 less than ten boats arrived, with the exception of August, October and November, with the arrival of 12, 23 and 21 boats respectively.
