The Tías City Council has organized the VI Gathering of Santa Clauses underwater, which will take place on Saturday, in Playa Chica, in Puerto del Carmen. This event will serve to bring Christmas closer to this town, but also to demand respect for the marine environment and raise awareness about the need for its protection.
This time, Santa Claus will arrive by sea to look for his sunken reindeer. Children will be able to ask him for gifts and even see Rudolph, his lost reindeer. In addition, they will see hundreds of people diving into the sea dressed as the man of Christmas.
Santa Claus will arrive from Canada and explain to the participants the urgency of finding the reindeer before Christmas arrives, because if not, millions of children around the world will be left without gifts.
The program for this day dedicated to children begins at 10.30 am, with the collection of bibs and accreditations of the participants, although the organization recommends registering in advance through the website to avoid queues.
An hour later, at 11.30 am, Santa Claus will arrive by the sea and, subsequently, there will be an immersion of Santa Claus divers in search of the sunken reindeer. After the departure of the divers, the "hose down" by the firefighters will take place. In addition, there will be an awards ceremony and raffles.
For the benefit of Adena
In the afternoon, at 6:00 p.m., Santa Claus's message will be projected on video for the children and, then, you can see the animated film "Rudolph". In addition, there will be a Santa Claus and reindeer costume contest.
For those who do not find a costume, they will be sold for five euros on Saturday. And, whoever wants to spend the whole day in Playa Chica, a paella and a soft drink will be offered for six euros. All proceeds will go to Adena.
