The Lanzarote tenor Pancho Corujo will be the town crier of the San Ginés festivities this year, which will begin on August 20.
Regarding the festivities, the City Council has already announced that they will be "very controlled" and will last only five days, with a sports program, a folklore festival, a concert "in a very intimate format" in the theater and "small events" in the neighborhoods.
"We wanted to do events on the street, but the problem is that we are 65,000 inhabitants and, as soon as you generate a little expectation, you can find 2,000 or 3,000 people on the street that you cannot control," said the councilor of the area, Alfredo Mendoza, who believes that "it is not yet the time for large outdoor events."
The town crier of the festivities, Pancho Corujo, began his studies in 1998 at the Higher Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands, with the soprano María Célida Alzola. In 2002 he continued with Professor María Orán and in 2004 he obtained the Professional Title of Music, having already been recognized internationally.
