The DANA (Isolated Depression at High Levels) that is located between Lanzarote and the African continent is causing a situation of unsettled weather in the archipelago, especially in the easternmost islands. To the rain, the storms, the swell and the wind now the dust haze is added.
Given this situation, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated the yellow warning for suspended dust from 15:00 hours this Thursday in Lanzarote and La Graciosa. The warning will be active until 23:59 hours on this same day and visibility below 3,000 meters is expected.
Aemet reports that, although initially the dust will not significantly affect low levels, it is not ruled out that there will be mud rains, especially during the afternoon of this Thursday.
In addition, wind and swell warnings have been extended until Saturday at 20:59 hours, with gusts that may reach and/or exceed 70 kilometers per hour and waves up to five meters high.
