Mothers and fathers of the CEIP Costa Teguise, convened by the AMPA Pejeverde, gathered on Saturday in front of the entrance of the Educational Inspection office of Lanzarote under the slogan "For a decent school".
As they explain in a statement, the main demand of this AMPA is the "urgent" execution of a new school, but also the "adequate maintenance of existing infrastructures, the removal of barracks and the consequent reduction of classroom ratios".

From the AMPA Pejeverde they wanted to publicly thank the "wide" attendance of parents of the CEIP, as well as all the authorities, political groups and representatives of the City Council who went to support them "in basic demands to improve the safety and educational quality" of their children.
Similarly, they have extended a hand to the new area inspector, Gustavo Raya Casero, whom they also thank, after he contacted the AMPA on Friday "in a very conciliatory and committed way" to the current situation of the CEIP. A fact that the AMPA considers that "dignifies him as a person and inspector". "We publicly appreciate his interest in solving the existing problems in our school," he adds.

Finally, the AMPA of the CEIP Costa Teguise is "available to the Inspection and the Ministry so that they can learn first-hand about the problems" of the center, which they say are "forcing many families to change schools".
"We believe that when they can see the situation of the CEIP in situ they will try to find solutions", they point out, inviting "once again" the Minister of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, Manuela Armas, to learn about the situation in "first person".
