Estefanía Curbelo Rodríguez passed away this Wednesday, July 5, due to a cancer she had been battling for some time. All of Lanzarote, and specifically the colleagues from the school CEIP Costa Teguise where she taught music classes, have mourned the sad outcome.
Estefanía, 47 years old, was very loved on the island, and known in the field of culture for her dedication to music. She composed her own songs, expressing her experiences, and also performed in concerts on the island. Francisco José Navarro, an acquaintance, who "met her when she sang in the concerts he presented", recalls that she was "a very methodical, cheerful and active person". Another quality that characterized her was "her dedication to the audience in each of her concerts and also, everything she transmitted in each of them", Navarro confesses.
Her professional colleagues describe her as an "excellent colleague, an unbeatable friend and person", as highlighted by the educational community of the center. Thus, they wanted to thank her for all her "joy, enthusiasm, her music, work, solidarity, creativity, support and effort".
And they did not want to forget that she "will always continue living in the heart of her family, students, colleagues and all the people who have loved her, with the same generosity with which she has loved us". "Eternally in our lives", they conclude the text they have dedicated to the deceased.
In addition, her family also wanted to say goodbye to Estefanía: "Your husband Raúl Castro, your daughter Carla and your son Raúl; Your mother Fala, your siblings, siblings-in-law, nephews, friends and other relatives, will always have you in their memory", they wanted to add in her obituary.
