Lanzarote adds a new death from Covid

It is an 80-year-old woman who was admitted to the Molina Orosa Hospital

The Ministry of Health has added this Friday a new death from coronavirus in Lanzarote of an 80-year-old woman who was admitted to the Molina Orosa hospital, so there are now 74 people who have died on the island since the beginning of the pandemic. The last death recorded was on August 2, a woman who was admitted to the Molina Orosa hospital.

In the archipelago as a whole, ten deaths have been recorded in the last three days, of which six are in Tenerife, two in Gran Canaria, one in La Gomera and the one registered in Lanzarote. One of the deceased was 49 years old, while the rest were between 67 and 92 years old. All the people had previous pathologies and were in hospital.

Regarding the new cases, the Canary Islands has added this Friday a total of 458 new positives for Covid-19 among people over 60 years of age in the last three days.

Therefore, the accumulated cases of coronavirus among this group amounts to 94,366 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 456.68 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 195.84.

Currently, in the archipelago there are 180 people admitted to hospital for coronavirus, of which 13 are in the ICU and the rest, 167, on the ward.

 

Changes in healthcare capacity data

The Ministry of Health informs that as of this Friday, August 12, and in compliance with the Resolution of August 5 of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, the number of beds occupied by patients with covid-19 will take into account the number of beds occupied by patients with pneumonia or acute respiratory infection or other pathology that is considered attributable to infection by SARS-CoV-2.
