The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, held a meeting last week with representatives of the César Manrique Sculpture Association, during which both institutions agreed to transfer the work ‘La Mirada de César’ to the Cabildo, installed in Arrecife on the occasion of the artist's centenary.

The transfer includes the ownership and corresponding rights of the sculptural work by Manolo González, exhibited on Coll Avenue in the capital since last February.

Dolores Corujo welcomed the agreement reached and the significance of such an iconic work due to its meaning being in the possession of the first Island Institution.

“The proposal was made because the Cabildo is the administration that represents all the citizens of Lanzarote and because we are the only one with the appropriate technical personnel to allow the conservation and care of said work in the future,” Corujo explained.
