The island of La Graciosa has been without running water since last Friday. This has been assured by a resident of the eighth island who has contacted La Voz, who also criticizes that Canal Gestión is aware of the situation and has not solved the fault.
“Canal Gestión tells us that the pumps are stopped, but nobody comes here to fix them”, explains the resident, who also questions the response given by the company. “When we call, they tell us that we have to have a reserve of 4,000 liters, but the contract states that the maintenance is 24 hours”, he adds.
“The company tells me that there are some guys in La Graciosa who are in charge of the repair”, the resident also points out, although he assures that he has been near the pumps on the eighth island all weekend to see if they are started. “Everything is closed, everything is stopped”, he adds.
“Water is a basic necessity” claims the resident, who also points out that he has a sick relative who needs a minimum of two showers a day. “Without water it is impossible, it is a basic necessity but even more so with sick people”, the resident concludes.
