'Island Christmas' also traveled to the island of La Graciosa last Tuesday, Constitution Day. It was the family of the Los Campesinos folk group who moved from Lanzarote and brought carols, couplets and traditional dances.

The councilor of the Teguise City Council, Alicia Páez, was in charge of receiving them and together they supervised the smallest detail for the staging, which took place in the square installed on Caleta de Sebo Avenue. There, residents and visitors crowded together to enjoy the performance, which began with Christmas airs and Canarian carols, which they also sang along to, joining the magnificent voices of the soloists and choirs.

The songs they performed were 'Lo Divino', 'Come with me Pastorcito', 'A Child is Born', 'The Three Kings', 'Come Shepherds', among others. Los Campesinos, on this very special visit to the island of La Graciosa, also performed the most representative pieces of traditional Canarian folklore such as 'Seguidilla', 'Folia', 'Sorondongo', 'Isa' and 'Malagueña', where their spectacular choreographies are followed by the public with the utmost attention and the colors of their clothing are authentic museum paintings.

Residents and visitors did not stop applauding at the end of each of the pieces they performed during their performance. It was an edition of 'Island Christmas' where tradition and good work left their mark on La Octava.

On the return trip to Lanzarote, Los Campesinos, aboard the ship, enlivened the entire journey with their songs, a detail that both the ship's crew and the passengers, very grateful, rewarded with their applause.
