Stones and mud at the entrance to Costa Teguise

The rains that fell throughout this Saturday in Lanzarote have caused chaos in Costa Teguise. The water that came down from the ravines has flooded the roads, leaving cars and buses immobilized on the roads.

The ravines have run strongly, carrying stones and mud, covering the roads, which has led the Civil Guard Traffic Unit to close access to the coastal town through the three accesses.

According to the Emergency Consortium, at this time "the structure is already beginning to move and the rainfall is beginning to subside and stabilize." In the Las Cucharas area, 62.2 mm have fallen, according to records, that precipitation is accumulated from 13:05 hours to 15:00 hours.

In addition, the Tahíche road has also been affected by the waters that carried mud and stones. A bus stopped with damage to the undercarriage and had to evacuate the users.
