Four 3rd year ESO students from the Santa María de los Volcanes Nazaret school in Arrecife were selected last Friday, June 16, to participate in the IV Science and Technology Campus of the Canary Islands. Carla Espino, Celia Hernández, Arapsun Rodríguez and María Santana will enjoy for two weeks, from July 10 to 21, different activities related to science and technology.
The main activity consists of carrying out a real R&D Project, from the formulation of the problem to the communication and dissemination of its results. The students from the Lanzarote center have been summoned for the axes of "Biomedicine and Health", "Energy, biodiversity and environment" and "Science and Society".
They will also be able to participate in different complementary scientific-cultural activities, such as visits to other R&D centers, conferences and scientific workshops, improvement of languages, knowledge and use of scientific equipment, use of ICT tools and instruments, scientific dissemination, etc.
The students, according to the school, "are already excited and very expectant about the opportunity they are going to enjoy". "Some students who stand out for their interest and curiosity in science, and also for their degree of involvement with all the activities that the Santa María de Los Volcanes-Nazaret School offers them, promoting Multiple Intelligences to achieve in them the development of each of the key competences", they added.
