The headquarters of the Security and Emergency Consortium of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has been the place chosen by the fire department to pay a symbolic and emotional tribute to Luis Álvarez de León, a firefighter with 31 years of service, who is retiring.

As is tradition, the sirens, hoses and applause of the staff dedicated a few minutes to honor the effort and professionalism of the colleague who is retiring, after more than three decades dedicated to his profession.

During the meeting, moments of emotion followed one another, as well as gratitude from his colleagues who highlighted "his example of commitment to the fire department and the society of Lanzarote, a colleague who has always been there for everything, in the easy and difficult moments that this profession brings."

"Following the tradition, all the staff of the Security and Emergency Consortium wanted to recognize in his retirement, the professionalism and good work during more than three decades of Luis Álvarez de León, a person who has earned the affection and respect of everyone for his generosity and discipline in his work," said the Security Councilor, Marcos Bergaz.

"Our gratitude to all the public workers who dedicate their professional lives, and often taking time away from their personal lives, for the common good. Generous people with true public service as is the case of Luis Álvarez, to whom we wish the best in his new stage," added the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo.
