The Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands published in the BOC the Resolution by which, on an extraordinary basis, 517 scholarships are granted for university studies to certain students due to the reduction of the academic requirement and family income, as well as the increase in income thresholds due to the existence of available credit in the call for the 2022/2023 academic year. Both measures involve an outlay of 984,783.52 euros.

In the first case, the reduction of the academic requirement, the amount amounts to 787,198.52 euros (279 scholarships), while in the second, the increase in the income threshold, the amount is 197,585.00 euros (238 aids).

The Scholarship Selection Committee met on March 3 and verified that, once the ordinary procedure for granting these aids was completed, there was credit in the budget item related to this concept, so it proposed that the fixed tuition scholarship be extended to students already benefiting to cover the amount of the third enrollment in general, and the fourth in the case of Engineering, Architecture and Science studies.

If, after the aforementioned extension, there was still remaining credit, the body proposed that the income thresholds be automatically raised to increase the number of beneficiaries for the enrollment modality.
