Teguise presented on Las Cucharas beach an event organized jointly by the Teguise City Council and the nautical sector companies of Costa Teguise, in which a free open day will be offered for the enjoyment of aquatic activities such as SUP, skimboard, diving, windsurfing and Hawaiian canoe, among others. It will be this Saturday, on Las Cucharas beach, starting at 11 o'clock.

The event, named the Fiesta del Mar (Sea Festival), will welcome the summer on this beach that has recovered this year the blue flag distinction. The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, the Councilor for Tourism, Antonio Callero, as well as representatives of the companies sponsoring this Fiesta del Mar, announced the details of this initiative that "promotes physical activity and initiation to nautical disciplines." From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Costa Teguise proposes a day of "fun for everyone," with Fitness Zumba sessions, Beach Volley, Rookie Cup Regatta, skate ramp, DJ and music.

"This great beach day will be supervised by professionals and will have monitors for each activity," explained the Councilor for Tourism, Antonio Callero, who took the opportunity to congratulate the hotel sector for the occupancy data that Costa Teguise is registering, "and that in a month not as good as May have exceeded figures compared to previous years."

For his part, the mayor of Teguise, celebrated that the Las Cucharas promenade already has "a serious project to improve the avenue, for which the Tourist Infrastructure of the Government of the Canary Islands will allocate 1,350,000 euros, to incorporate leisure equipment, in addition to improving the paving."

"This has meant doubling the investment planned for the improvement of the Paseo, which will not be limited to the change of pavement, but will offer the resident population and tourists another different avenue, with viewpoints, urban picnic areas, children's areas and sports circuits, which we hope will soon be a reality in Costa Teguise," said Oswaldo Betancort.
