Last weekend Limones Avenue in Playa Blanca was dressed in color. The Patchwork technique, which consists of using different fabric scraps to obtain a blanket, cushions, etc., gave way to an exhibition with this technique that extended along the popular avenue of the tourist center to show all kinds of fabrics, boatas, books, cushions and endless accessories for this activity.
In this manual work, patience prevails above all, since it requires time and dedication, however, art and good taste also play an important role in achieving a final result as extraordinary as the one shown last weekend.
The exhibition was in charge of Isabel Fernández, a Patchwork teacher who for several years has taught courses and workshops in Femés, Playa Blanca and Arrecife. It was with her students from this last year that she gave life to this exhibition of colors. 59 works showed the dedication and imagination of all these students. Fernández took the opportunity to thank them all "for the perseverance they have shown throughout the year" and summoned them until next year.
The exhibition also included a contest, in which attendees evaluated the best work on display there. Among the votes, a handmade doll was raffled.
