The municipal group of Coalición Canaria in the San Bartolomé City Council has presented a motion in the Consistory for the creation of a music school in Playa Honda, an initiative that had already been planned by the Lanzarote professor Josefina González Gil, "whose project could be taken as a reference", according to the nationalists.
"Music is a form of expression and communication that everyone should have access to. Music education is considered an important factor in the integral education of the person. It is an experience that should be provided by institutions, as it occupies a primary place in the school curriculum to achieve the integral and harmonious education of the child," says Coalición Canaria.
"The value of music education is evident, as Music is a medium that addresses man in all his dimensions, developing and cultivating the spirit, mind and body through it", adds the nationalist group of San Bartolomé.
In the motion they describe verbatim their two requests, one oriented to the "creation of a music school in the town of Playa Honda, as there is in the town of San Bartolomé, aimed at the child-youth population and adults", and on the other hand the support to Professor Josefina González Gil "with the provision of a place with the appropriate conditions and materials for music teaching, as well as with the necessary financial collaboration for its perfect functioning".
