The Yaiza City Council informs the population that it proceeded this Wednesday at noon to the temporary closure of Playa Dorada, in the town of Playa Blanca, upon Public Health detecting bacterial contamination by intestinal enterococci, in such a way that the Administration requests respect for the signage that expressly prohibits bathing at this point on the southern coast.
Municipal sources also report that this Thursday new water samples will be collected for analysis in the laboratory, while the Administration investigates the causes of the spill that has caused the contamination.
Yaiza recommends to neighbors, male and female, and tourists the enjoyment of other beaches such as those located in the Natural Monument of Los Ajaches, known as Papagayo beaches, Flamingo Beach or the small beach of the town.
