Have you ever been to the island of Lanzarote?
We were there many years ago, 22 years ago. There were no children. We played alone (laughs). We are left with how impressive the island is. There will be La Palma, Tenerife, but Lanzarote has something special. It is a very volcanic island, a very virgin island. Authentic.
What do you expect from your performance in Arrecife on the occasion of the traditional Meeting of Senior Citizens?
It is a show that we are taking all over Spain. We have been to Madrid, Barcelona and it is called "Revolver". 30 years that we have been in the world of artistry. It is a very current show. We always get into the idiosyncrasies of the people of the place, in this case we will talk about the conejeros, from Lanzarote, from the chicharreros, the canariones? (laughs).
How has the Canarian public treated you?
When they give us the audience data, a fantastic percentage is from the Canarian audience. We have performed in many carnival galas or other parties. We hope to have the affection that the Canarian public has always given us.
Do you think there are differences between Canarian and Andalusian humor, for example?
We are very close in terms of humor. I have always liked Canarian humor. We have a friend who defines everything and who is a phenomenon, who is perhaps the best known outside the Canary Islands, Manolo Viera. He is very funny. Especially his stories and jokes, which he embroiders. We have a great friendship with him. There are many people with humor in the Canary Islands.
What would you highlight about yourselves as a comedy duo?
We have our personality. Our characters, Omaíta and Antonia, the mother and daughter who are everywhere in the world, I think that is what defines us the most. We make a type of humor that is close, for everyone, simple and without complications. They are situations of real life, and that we as comedians are in charge of exaggerating. They are nothing more than everyday situations.
Like other comedians such as Martes y 13 or Cruz y Raya, have you ever considered separating?
No. We believe that there is room for everyone. We have the good luck or virtue that we are brothers and friends. As the saying goes "Family touches you and you choose your friends" We have also chosen each other as friends. Not only do we get along very well outside but also inside, at home with the family. There is a very good vibe between the two of us. It is what people want, that you transmit the good vibe that exists between the duo, that the years pass and you remain faithful to them performing thousands of sketches.
What future projects do "Los Morancos" currently have?
We will start on Telecinco in January or February. We are currently doing a theater tour in which we will go through Bilbao, Valencia, Valladolid, Santander? through many places. We love doing theater. After that tour, we will start with television.
