Ramírez Cerdá Park has been the place chosen once again by Comisiones Obreras to celebrate one of the events on the occasion of Women's Day, which has included the show "Mythology and Women of Lanzarote." The narrator Vicky Dos Santos, accompanied by the cellist Aarón Márquez, has reviewed stories of women who represent an environment and a struggle. "Women who were born in a difficult time full of obstacles and isolation, but have in common many aspects of life, such as intuition, wisdom, perseverance and strength," they say from the union.

In addition, the event has also included the participation of the Social and Cultural Association for Women Mararía, in recognition of the work it does, and the LÁNZATE LGTBIQ+ Association, to talk about "the harshness and problems that Trans women encounter when it comes to labor insertion and in other aspects of their lives." After other interventions, the event ended with Patricia Martín Tovar, lawyer and Equality technician in the CCOO Canarias office, who spoke about Equality Plans in companies and the importance of them to move towards a fairer society.

The general secretary of CCOO Lanzarote, Vanesa Frahija, stressed that above all, this act has been of "union claim, since despite the Organic Law of March 22 3/2007 for effective equality between women and men, there is still much to be done, since the latest data put the gender pay gap in the European Union at 14.1%." In this regard, Frahija reiterates that "equal pay and treatment are essential requirements to achieve equal rights, economic independence and professional fulfillment for women."

The union will also join this Tuesday afternoon the events organized by the 8M Feminist Platform.
