Wastewater discharge in Argana Alta

Canal Gestión assures that it is working on the solution of the spills that have been occurring for days in the area of the intermediate wastewater pumping station of Arrecife, in Argana Alta. A breakdown that is causing a widespread stench in the capital municipality. The company says that it is expected that “in a few days” it will be completely solved, when the technical work is finished to prevent “it from happening again”.

From the company that manages the water in Lanzarote they affirm that the solution “is becoming more complicated than expected”, and that they have “all the material and human resources available in that breakdown”. The problem, according to Canal Gestión, is caused by a breakdown in the course that the wastewater travels from the Arrecife pumping station, in the area of the Molina Orosa Hospital, to the treatment plant at the exit of the capital towards San Bartolomé.

According to the company, as the pumping in the station in the center of Arrecife, located on Portugal Street, which sends the wastewater to the one near the Hospital, does not stop, the spills continue to come out in Argana Alta due to the breakdown suffered in that area, which further complicates the solution of the problem. Canal Gestión emphasizes that this occurs “because there is no alignment in Arrecife”, which would mean “that this would not happen”.

Finally, Canal Gestión points out that, in principle, “it is expected that the work can be solved in a few days”, when the technical work of completion of the breakdown is finished, which guarantees that “it will not happen again”
