Pet owners have called a "dog concentration" to ask the San Bartolomé City Council to "change the regulations" and allow them to have the animals unleashed in the area designated for them on Guacimeta beach in Playa Honda.
"We are going to meet with our dogs to protest, because dogs have the right to be unleashed on the beach and to be able to swim, run, jump and run after a ball freely," says Laura Martín, one of the organizers.
This group of neighbors has decided to call this protest, because they say that "out of the blue, there is always a local police officer there fining everyone". "And we are going to protest about it," says Laura Martín, who explains that the concentration will take place from 11 am on Sunday, July 29 in the area designated for dogs on Guacimeta beach.
