Air quality indices indicate that they are "extremely unfavorable", due to the haze episode, in areas of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and south of Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

Likewise, variable concentrations are expected that could generate health problems for people with chronic or respiratory diseases and affect visibility up to 3,000 meters, the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Territorial Cohesion and Water has reported, which maintains the recommendations due to high temperatures and haze.

The Government of the Canary Islands recommends reducing all outdoor activity and postponing it when the air quality is good or reasonably good, and paying special attention to the most vulnerable people or those with respiratory problems.

It also recalls that the episode of high temperatures and haze that has affected the Canary Islands since September 29 has led the Government of the Canary Islands to maintain a pre-alert situation for both phenomena, unusual at this time of year.

In addition, the Government of the Canary Islands maintains the alert situation for risk of forest fires in the western islands and Gran Canaria.

Regarding high temperatures, AEMET's predictions indicate that 34ºC may be reached or exceeded in midlands and south and west slopes of the islands.

In addition, minimum temperatures remain unusually high for this time of year, with generalized values between 20 and 25ºC, except in the summits of Tenerife and La Palma.
