Francisco Alemán wanted the best partner for his donkey 'Melosa'. And he found it in Lanzarote, so he didn't hesitate to embark his animal to the land of rabbits to celebrate a blind date. And it was a success. 'Melosa' and 'Jesús', as the donkey is called, had their tumbles until their owners and veterinarians confirmed that, finally, Melosa was pregnant and could return to her native Agüimes. But it has not been easy for this story to get here.
The owner of 'Melosa' spent almost a year in the task of finding a boyfriend worthy of his donkey, and he succeeded because 'Jesús' is currently the tallest donkey in Lanzarote and is frequently exhibited in pilgrimages.
'Jesús' is "a donkey of great height. He was bought in Fuerteventura. Strong, he runs and is taken on pilgrimage. He is a donkey that is worked and is 11 years old," explains Alemán. Jesús is owned by Onofre Martín and after talking with the owner of 'Melosa' he did not hesitate to accept her in his stable. "At that time we were strangers and today we are great friends," says Alemán, who "has no words to thank Martín for welcoming Melosa to his home in Lanzarote for six months."
