The municipality of Haría has been chosen by the prestigious magazine National Geographic as the fifth most beautiful town in Spain to spend the summer. Teguise has also broken into the ranking in 75th position out of 100 locations.
The travel publication has emphasized that the most spectacular way to get to Haría is via the road that starts from Teguise, along the road of curves. The palm trees that surround the towns of Haría and Máguez, located in The Valley of a Thousand Palm Trees or the La Corona Volcano (609 meters) are two of the highlighted elements.
The municipality that hides Los Jameos del Agua or La Cueva de Los Verdes, is preceded in the list by Cudillero (Asturias), Setenil de las Bodegas (Cádiz), Ayna (Albacete), Besalú (Girona).
In this same classification, but in 75th place, is Teguise. The daughter of Guadarfía, the last aboriginal king of Lanzarote, gave its name to this town now recognized by National Geographic. Of this beautiful municipality, the magazine highlights "the white colonial houses with bare stone corners, the carpentry of balconies and doors painted green, the cobbled streets without traffic."
