A joint operation between the Civil Guard and the Local Police of Yaiza has resulted in the arrest of two people for the crime of theft of approximately 95 kilos of fish from the marine cages of Playa Quemada.

As the Civil Guard informed La Voz de Lanzarote, the events occurred on November 23, when the perpetrators, who have a history of the same crime, were caught transporting the load in their vehicle, in basins and without respecting the corresponding hygienic-sanitary conditions.

In addition, the Civil Guard points out that they were carrying "a rowing boat and a net", which are the necessary elements to reach the marine cages.

This is the third time that fish thefts have occurred at the Playa Quemada fish farm this year. The first was last August, when the Civil Guard intercepted two people with 99 kilos while transporting the fish without the proper sanitary conditions.

The second occasion was in October, and it was the Local Police who intercepted four people with 110 kilos of fish, when they were returning by boat from the marine cages.
