Officials of the National Police Corps attached to the Judicial Police Area of the Central District Police Station of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, recently proceeded to arrest Diego G. S., 38 years old, with 34 arrests to his credit for serious crimes, some for drug trafficking; Óscar Octavio S. R., alias "El Pichón", 51 years old, with 21 arrests also for very diverse crimes, including drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms; and Flavio Esther S. P., 22 years old and with a criminal record, all of them natives of Las Palmas, as alleged perpetrators of several crimes of robbery with violence, in addition to drug trafficking.
The now arrested, according to a police statement, have been engaged for a month in drug trafficking in different parts of the capital while robbing illegal prostitutes and drug dealers engaged in petty dealing, in all cases armed with a revolver loaded with ammunition, and in perfect working order, with the intention of avoiding complaints from victims due to the illegality of their profits.
The police investigations, hampered by the broad scope of action of the robbers, allowed their location in two neighborhoods of this capital, specifically in San Cristóbal and in the Arenales area, after which the relevant warrants were requested for entry and search of their homes, where they were seized a large-caliber revolver with ammunition, 123 grams of cocaine, 230 of hashish, two large rocks of crack, precision scales, material to make single doses of narcotics, cash from the sale of drugs and a large displacement car.
After the three detainees were transferred to carry out the relevant proceedings, it was found that the first two had been released from prison a little over a month ago after serving a criminal sentence. Once those were completed, they were placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, which ordered the admission to the El Salto del Negro prison of the two men.
